On September 23, 2021, there was a demo visit of colleagues from the RusDragMet company to the Institute of Oceanology named after P.P. Shirshov RAS for measuring demo samples in the MSCL-XYZ core scanner. A detailed analysis of the core material was carried out using all sensors that are at the disposal of colleagues from the IO RAS, namely, the chemical (elemental) composition using the Geotek XRF X-ray fluorescence analyzer, photo documentation with the Geoscan V linear scanning core, point magnetic susceptibility and spectrophotometry. The performed scanning will instantly identify the target elements and interlayers, which makes it possible to judge the applicability of the above analyzes for the purposes of RusDragMet. Everyone was satisfied with the visit and now we are faced with the question of further discussions on the use of MSCL core scanners in production, including making more certainty in choosing a specific core scanning system.
